feeling a bit freaked

November 2nd, 2006

For the last several months I haven’t been feeling well. I have been aching and grumbling like a crabby old woman and have amassed such a list of symptoms it’s rather embarassing. Yesterday I finally went to the doctor. I told him that I feel like a broken down machine. It turns out that I have all of the classic symptoms for hypothyroidism. There just might be a reason for my sudden weight gain, aching body and falling out hair. Today I went for a ton of bloodwork and will soon find out if it’s my thyroid that is causing me to drag my butt around day after day or if I am actually just breaking down.

As well as going for blood work, I also have to go for an ultrasound in two weeks. I have to admit I am a bit anxious about that part. I have a strong family history of uterine cancer. A number of my symptoms can also be early indicators of cancer. It’s not likely that is the case but never-the-less when I booked the ultrasound it was hard to say that it is to check for CANCER! I know the doctor is just being cautious, which I really appreciate but it is just a bit to real for me.

I will now go bury my head in the sand!
